Activity

  • A Just Transition for Social and Climate Justice / Transición Justa para lograr Justicia Social y Climática
    Activity Date: Friday, January 29, 2021 - 13:00 UTC
    Duration: 90 min
    Brief Description:

Unions all over the world are active to integrate social justice in the climate debate under the banner of a “Just Transition”. While the concept is in the Paris Agreement and many countries promised to implement measures and policies, the results on the ground are not always following. Emissions are still going up, large groups in society in the Global South and North are living the impact of the climate emergency, companies and governments are talking about climate change but not doing enough, by far. How can the union movement both increase the climate ambition and deal with inequality and social injustice? Different tools and strategies will be discussed during this webinar with leaders from the union movement and beyond.
