    Résumé:

According to a report by the Commission of the European Union and the European External Action Service (EEAS), the impact of tariff preferences for Moroccan Saharan products on local populations is clear and significant.

The EU Commission and the EEAS have just confirmed this with figures in a recent report: Morocco invests seven to ten times more than the resources coming from the Moroccan Sahara and its partnership with the EU is highly beneficial for the populations of the southern provinces.

It also demonstrates that Morocco's goal is not to exploit the resources of the territories, but to ensure sustained development of these provinces in order to better integrate them into the national economic fabric, with notable benefits for the human development of the local population (see Emmanuel de Casterlé, former UNDP Representative, "Human Development Report for the Saharan Provinces", 2008.)
