MayDay online poetry reading for peaceActivity Date: Thursday, May 5, 2022 - 13:00 UTCDuration: 120 minBrief Description:
The republics of Central Asia, like other smaller countries in the Eurasia and Europe regions, are being pulled willy-nilly into the conflict in Ukraine: experiencing divided communities, losses among families and friends, economic sanctions affecting the poor as well as the rich, restrictions on travel and freedom of speech, growth of nationalist and war mentality. Based in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, our poetry reading is open for international voices of protest against war, for a cessation of hostilities, for pressure on all governments to work harder for peace. This is a cultural action "for another world" without national affiliations.
