National Confederation of Dalit and Adivasi Organisations (NACDAOR) came up as a response to the caste-bias reflected in the main stream media during the Anti-Mandal Commission Report agitations. To break the isolation of Dalit organizations, it organized a national conference of Dalit organizations from all over the country in the year, 2001, which gave birth to the National Confederation of Dalit and Adivasi Organisations (NACDAOR) which became the national platform of organisations led by Dalits and Adivasis and other socially excluded sections. NACDAOR is presently comprised of more than 2200 grass root Dalit organisations and has a nationwide network of committed volunteers working for the empowerment of the Dalits and Adivasis.
